Description
Saint Michael the Archangel is the prince of spiritual warfare. As the leader of the Seraphim, he led the good angels in an epic battle against the devil and all of the bad angels, banishing them from heaven. His name which means “Who is like God” is invoked in the Prayer to Saint Michael which is prayed at the end of Mass in many Catholic churches.
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen
Saint Michael’s feast day is September 29th.
